Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) announces Godzilla global licensing and merchandising program as the highly anticipated film stomps closer to theaters.
Toys and figures, apparel and accessories, costumes and more are available for fans before the “King of the Monsters” Godzilla conquers theaters on May 16.
WBCP announced Thursday a slate of new partners signed on to support Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ film Godzilla with product inspired by the epic action adventure.
Led by master toy partner Bandai America Incorporated, alongside JAKKS Pacific, Inc., Rubie’s Costume Co., NECA, Sideshow Collectibles and more, the global licensing and merchandising program for Godzilla will mark the rebirth of Toho’s iconic creation with a monstrous array of products fit for fans of all ages, says the company.
“Already one of the most recognizable characters in all of pop culture, Godzilla’s return to the big screen will re-introduce the ‘King of the Monsters’ to a whole new generation,” said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
“By working with key licensing partners who are inspired by the unforgettable experience of the film, WBCP will bring its visuals to life with imaginative product lines that will engage fans both new and old.”
Products will be available at mass and specialty retailers worldwide, with several products also available at www.WBShop.com.
Toho Co., Ltd.’s Godzilla franchise contains one of the most widely recognized movie monsters worldwide, including more than twenty-five films, multiple television programs, video games, and book series.
Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, story by David Callaham, based on the character “Godzilla” owned and created by TOHO CO., LTD. Thomas Tull is producing, along with Jon Jashni, Mary Parent and Brian Rogers.
Patricia Whitcher and Alex Garcia are serving as executive producers, alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira. Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present a Legendary Pictures production, a Gareth Edwards film, Godzilla.
Slated to open beginning May 16, 2014, the film is expected to be presented in 3D, 2D and IMAX in select theatres and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd.
