An independent game developer Yacht Club Games launches the Shovel Knight for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
It is a sweeping classic platform adventure game with new game play, characters and an 8-bit retro aesthetic.
You play as the eponymous Shovel Knight, a small knight with a huge quest. Shovel Knight has come to this land with two goals: to defeat the evil Enchantress and quest for his lost beloved.

But between Shovel Knight and his beloved stands a cadre of villainous knights. These terrible foes, known as The Order of No Quarter, have been dispatched to prevent Shovel Knight from reaching the Enchantress, and will pursue their mission at any cost!
The game boasts several unique features on Nintendo platforms. It will include exclusive Miiverse functionality on Wii U, and the Nintendo 3DS version will feature both stereoscopic 3D and an exclusive Battle Arena mode using StreetPass.
“With Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games is leading a new indie charge in the Nintendo eShop, strengthening an already great lineup of content,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s vice president of Licensing.
Shovel Knight launches today, June 26, as a digital download in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
