Spectre Knocks Out Box Office Records in the UK

Rentrak, which measures the performance of movies, announced Sunday the worldwide box office estimates for the weekend of Nov. 1, as compiled by the company’s theatrical measurement services.

With its UK release, Sony’s ‘Spectre’ came at the top with an impressive collection of $80 million.

“The name is Bond, James Bond and Sony’s ‘Spectre’ has already knocked out various box office records in the UK with an eye toward a massive North American debut later this week,” said Rentrak’s senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

Impressively, ‘Spectre’ has also set a new IMAX record as the highest per-location average in IMAX history and the first film ever to top a $100,000 per-location average with $105,000 in 47 IMAX locations.”

According to Rentrak, the top 12 worldwide weekend box office estimates, listed in descending order, per data collected as of Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, are below.

1. Spectre – Sony – $80.4M

2. Hotel Transylvania 2 – Sony – $39.4M

3. Martian, The – 20th Century Fox – $28.4M

4. Last Witch Hunter, The – Multiple – $23.4M

5. Witness, The – Multiple – $18.7M

6. Goosebumps – Sony – $17.3M

7. Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension – Paramount – $16.9M

8. Bridge Of Spies – 20th Century Fox – $11.5M

9. Ant-Man – Disney – $11.1M

10. Crimson Peak – Universal – $8.4M

11. Intern, The – Warner Bros. – $8.0M

12. Pan – Warner Bros. – $7.4M
