Allu Arjun and Atlee Join Forces for Magnum Opus ‘AA22 x A6’ Produced by Sun Pictures

In a significant announcement coinciding with the birthday of the celebrated actor Allu Arjun on April 8, Sun Pictures officially revealed their collaboration with director Atlee for a new pan-India film, tentatively titled ‘AA22 x A6’.
This monumental partnership brings together the nationwide phenomenon and National Award-winning star of Pushpa, Allu Arjun, the director known for delivering massive blockbusters such as Jawan, Theri, Bigil, and Mersal, Atlee, and one of India’s most influential media giants, Sun TV Network.
The news, which put an end to widespread speculation, was shared by Sun Pictures across their social media platforms. Their announcement included a captivating video featuring Allu Arjun and Atlee visiting the Sun Pictures office to finalise terms with Kalanithi Maran, the Head Honcho.
Following this, the actor and director reportedly flew to top VFX studios in the United States, indicating a strong emphasis on visual effects for the upcoming project. Sun Pictures accompanied the announcement with the text: “Gear up for the Landmark Cinematic Event #AA22xA6 – A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures @alluarjun @Atlee_dir #SunPictures #AA22 #A6”.
Referred to as Project AA22 x A6, the film is already generating considerable buzz and is rumoured to have a staggering budget of around ₹800 crore. Sources suggest that the production cost is estimated at ₹200 crore, with a significant ₹250 crore allocated for VFX, highlighting the makers’ ambition to position it as a pan-Indian spectacle with global appeal.
This ambitious budget places it in the league of other large-scale productions, such as Mahesh Babu’s SSMB 29 with SS Rajamouli, which is reportedly being made on a budget of approximately ₹1000 crore.
Industry insiders suggest that Allu Arjun will command a fee of approximately ₹175 crore along with a backend deal securing a 15% stake in the film’s profits. Meanwhile, Atlee is reportedly set to receive ₹100 crore for directing what will be the sixth film of his career. This significant investment in both talent and production underscores the scale and expectations surrounding ‘AA22 x A6’.
