Crimson Forest Entertainment, a global independent motion picture studio, announced Tuesday that Chinese Martial Arts star Tiger Chen has been cast for “Impulse.”
This will be his follow-up to last year’s actioner, “Man of Tai Chi,” which marked Keanu Reeve’s directorial debut.
The cast is currently being set, and filming will commence later this year in Vancouver. Crimson Forest Entertainment is financing and producing the film, along with Cargo Entertainment and Tunnel Post.
“Tiger is an amazingly talented Martial Arts star, and we are excited to cast him in our film,” said Jonathan Lim, chief executive officer of Crimson Forest Entertainment. “We are confident that the film will have a stellar cast to complement an action-packed plot line that will resonate with audiences on a global scale.”

Luke Daniels and Alan Pao will exec produce for Tunnel. Cargo Entertainment is taking the action-thriller to Cannes this month.
In addition to “Man of Tai Chi”, Chen’s other credits include “Once in the Life” by Laurence Fishburne, “House of Fury” by Stephen Fung, and “Kung Fu Man” by Cheung-Yan Yuen, which Chen wrote and played the lead in. Chen was also a key fight choreographer in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Charlie’s Angels,” the “Matrix” trilogy, and both “Kill Bill” movies.
