Discovery en Español’s documentary Terremoto En Nepal (Aftershock: Disaster in Nepal), analyzes the destructive force and terrible consequences of the 7.8 and 7.3 earthquakes that shook the country this past spring. Terremoto En Nepal premieres June 21 at 10PM E/P as part of the Discovery a Fondo programming block.
The massive earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25th caused vast destruction, amassing a devastating death toll of more than 8,000 people, including 18 climbers who were at Mount Everest’s Base Camp during the time of the quake. Historic buildings in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, were reduced to rubble and generations-old family homes collapsed in clouds of dust.
