Rentrak, which measures the performance of movies, announced Sunday the worldwide box office estimates for the weekend of June 14, as compiled by the company’s theatrical measurement services.
“Universal’s ‘Jurassic World‘ proves that dinosaurs still rule the earth with a mind-blowing worldwide weekend gross of $511.8 million which is a combined tally of $307.2 million in 66 international territories & $204.6 million in North America. Notably, this is the first time a film has ever grossed $500 million in a weekend,” said Rentrak’s senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian.
According to Rentrak, the top 12 worldwide weekend box office estimates, listed in descending order, per data collected as of Sunday, June 14, 2015, are below.
