Former Pixar Animation Studios publicity lead Robin Chandler will join DreamWorks Animation as the studio’s Head of Theatrical Publicity. DreamWorks made this announcement Tuesday.
Chandler, a 25 year industry vet with experience in key disciplines including film, television, interactive and live entertainment, will spearhead global publicity efforts for the studio’s feature films.
“Robin’s incredible track record in the animation industry speaks for itself and I am absolutely thrilled to have her leading our theatrical publicity,” said DreamWorks Animation’s Head of Theatrical Marketing Jim Gallagher. “We have an amazing slate of films on the horizon and I can’t wait to work with Robin and our partners at Fox to share it with fans around the world.”

Previous to DreamWorks, Chandler spent six years at Pixar, most recently as the studio’s Head of Worldwide Publicity. In this capacity, she oversaw all aspects of publicity across the studio’s worldwide business units including feature film, in-home, television, theme parks, live and interactive entertainment, and consumer products.
In addition to overseeing all filmmaker and talent relations for the studio, Chandler was instrumental in setting the strategic vision on release and awards campaigns for some of the top animated films, including “WALL•E,” “Up,” “Toy Story 3,” “Cars 2,” “Brave,” “Monsters University” and accompanying Pixar short films.
Chandler’s appointment comes in advance of the release of “Kung Fu Panda 3,” arriving in theaters on January 29. The third installment of the DreamWorks Animation franchise marks the studio’s first co-production with Oriental DreamWorks.
